The Bears should not try to build a team to “carry” Justin Fields. Trade him.

Good article but on a side note, I’ve never really understood why people prefer adjusted EPA/play to raw EPA/play.

I like adjusted just because it lets u isolate performance by adjusting for better receivers, o lines etc

Hey Alex! The other day, I was talking about this Justin Fields stuff with a few friends and even posted about it. What about this? And it's a pretty crazy idea. The Bears trade Justin Fields and the #1 pick. For a better QB. Someone game-ready. Not as old as Kirk Cousins or Matthew Stafford, but not as young as Caleb Williams or Drake Maye. Your thoughts?

Interesting idea - you’d probably need a third team to get it done because presumably nobody else would want to pay for #1 and Fields. I think if you’re the bears, however, Williams has such high potential you swing for him. Although the first year could be rough (and the GM and HC will fear this) his upside is probably a top-5 qb, which is very useful for winning a Super Bowl and upside u wouldn’t be able to get from anyone via trade.

Maybe... But, don't you think that Williams may be a bust?

I don’t personally think he will be. There’s inherent risk w anyone you draft that they could bust but Williams’ upside is so elite and the position is so important that it’s a good shot to take.
